Important Information For Visitors
Important Information For Visitors: Nestled in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand, Jim Corbett National Park is a top destination for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts alike. Known for its thrilling jungle experience, the park is divided into four key tourism zones—Bijrani, Dhikala, Jhirna, and Durgadevi—each offering its own scenic charm and wildlife richness. Spread across 520 square kilometres, only designated areas within the Corbett Tiger Reserve are open for tourism to ensure wildlife conservation and enhance visitor experiences.
According to recent data from park authorities, the number of tourists is steadily rising, with over 70,000 visitors arriving during peak season each year. Both domestic and international travellers are drawn to Corbett’s unmatched wilderness, often choosing it over other famous reserves like Ranthambore, Kanha, and Kaziranga. This growing popularity is largely attributed to the high density of Royal Bengal Tigers and the park’s breathtaking natural landscapes—making it a must-visit for those seeking adventure and serenity in the wild.
When To Visit Corbett National Park
Important Information For Visitors planning a trip to Corbett National Park: the ideal time to visit is between November and June. This is when the park remains open to tourists and all safari zones are accessible. During the monsoon season, the park is closed as heavy rains often damage internal roads, making them unsafe for vehicles.
After the rains, extensive repair work is undertaken, and the park reopens in November, once the routes are restored and deemed safe for safari activities. Visitors are advised to plan their trips during the open season to fully experience the wildlife and beauty of Jim Corbett National Park.
